Nicolas Babin disruptive week – August 26th 2019

I am regularly asked to summarize my many posts. I thought it would be a good idea to publish on this blog, every Monday, some of the most relevant articles that I have already shared with you on my social networks.

Today I will share some of the most relevant articles about Artificial Intelligence and in what form you can find it in today’s life. I will also comment on the articles.

On Forbes.com:

With the very large number of people watching YouTube every month, the company is now depending on AI to simplify operations and ensure mundane tasks are done efficiently. This is fascinating and as I have said many times, AI is here to help with difficult tasks. Have a read!

Burnout and all work related problems are becoming a real threat to humanity. AI can help because thanks to its algorithms it can predict when people are getting tired and bored and with its knowledge of what the person likes to do, it can offer alternative activity that can change the person’s behavior. A perfect example of AI with HR focus.

On Theglobepost.com:

Many people wonder whether AI is good for humanity. Have a read here and learn what to expect in terms of AI and morality and what limit should we impose on AI algorithms. Very nice article to understand other type of application for any AI program.

On Newsmedical.net:
https://www.news-medical.net/news/20190822/Lessons-from-animal-brains-can-help-artificial-intelligence-to-overcome-difficult-barriers.aspx

The analysis of animal brains make us compare activities throughout species. Why would a mouse not jump from tree to tree like a squirrels when they share some DNA? How can we implement animal brain into AI algorithm. This is a very interesting article that explains an area I had not thought before.

On Mondaq.com:

Have a read here as it again shows the interesting angle of AI and HR at work. You can also contemplate the every existing question about whether AI is friend or foe….

On Benzinga.com:
https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/19/08/n14313945/ceipal-study-concludes-artificial-intelligence-is-the-future-of-recruitment

This week there are many articles about AI and HR. Here a different angle about AI and recruitment. I strongly believe AI can augment any recruiter by providing very reliable and strong information about candidates, not only about lying candidates but mostly about what skills and behavior to expect when recruiting someone.

“Using computer vision can unlock value from data” according to Todd Matsler. This is true but AI can be so powerful with many other features that can augment humans and allow different ways of working. And again today… AI and HR. This is fascinating.
